For women who are interested, we are also offering the Dive Against Debris specialty course for free on this day. If you would like to be certified, you will need to pay the PADI fee though. This certification also counts toward your Master Scuba Diver qualification.

There is a theory component and then the dive itself.

Please let us know if you would like to participate so we can the materials ready for you.

What is PADI Women’s Day?

The day was started to encourage more women to begin diving. The current participation rate is over 30% and building a female community of divers will help to grow this number.

There has also been an increase in female specific products such as wetsuits and BCDs as more women have become involved in the sport. These products fit better which also encourages more women to continue diving as it’s more comfortable.

Female dive instructor numbers are also increasing which helps to encourage other women into diving too.

We are fortunate to have the only female dive instructor in Trou aux Biches and we hope to have more in the future too.

I can’t join you. Is there something else I can do?

PADI are also hosting some virtual events for those that are unable to come diving.

Check out their Facebook and Instagram pages for 24 hours of PADI Women’s Day posts, videos, live interactions etc. They have also begun posting to PADI.com/women and PADI.com/community about the events. You can also follow them using the hashtags #padiwomen and #padiwomensdiveday
